Finding your Why

April 8, 2024

As I reflect on my journey, I've come to realize that a set of core values has been the backbone of my creativity—so much so that they've led me to turn down lucrative opportunities and even burn a few bridges in order to protect my boundaries. These seven guiding principles have kept me grounded and inspired, reminding me of what truly matters beyond the bottom line. Here's a closer look at the values that shape my work:

See the Human

Looking beyond the interface means truly understanding the people who interact with you. By fostering empathy, every project becomes more than just technology—it becomes a human experience that feels intuitive and welcoming.

Stay True to Self

Trust is built through honesty and consistency. Keeping things transparent ensures that every strategy, campaign, or product resonates on a genuine level, creating a foundation of reliability that stands the test of time.

Fuck Around & Find Out

Some of the best ideas begin with a single question. Continuously exploring new trends, tools, and insights keeps each solution fresh and forward-thinking—pushing boundaries until the most innovative answer emerges.

Community & OSS

Collaborative efforts open the door to more robust, user-friendly outcomes. Bringing diverse perspectives together helps shape projects that speak to real needs and create stronger, more unified results.

Find Your Why

Every successful project starts with asking “why?” By anchoring each decision in a clear purpose, it becomes easier to design experiences that are not only frictionless but also genuinely meaningful to the audience.

Beat the odds

Challenges are inevitable, but they’re also opportunities to refine and grow. Embracing setbacks as catalysts for better strategies leads to smoother, more adaptable outcomes that stand tall in a changing world.

Humility in Growth

There’s always more to learn. Staying open to fresh ideas and feedback allows for constant evolution—improving each project step by step, and ensuring that the journey remains as rewarding as the destination.

Closing Remarks

These are the guiding principles and values that shaped my perspective and mentality, and gave me the peace from mind through the highs and lows. People will always see the impact and a lifelong of progress in you, and certainly not the things, places, friends, & loved ones I chose to detach from, for my future self.

"What focus means is saying no to something that with every bone in your body you think is a phenomenal idea, you wake up thinking about it, but you say no to it because you are focusing on something else."
